Finding Healing at the Root
When Tatum first heard about WholeMind Healing Pathways, she was at a breaking point. A college student from Prescott, she had tried nearly everything to manage her mental health—traditional therapy, antidepressants, leaning on friends and family—but nothing seemed to touch the core of what she was struggling with. “I was just trying to suppress my emotions,” she shared. “I kept thinking I was overthinking it all. But deep down, I knew I needed something that would actually get to the root of it.”
It was a friend who first mentioned WholeMind, and Tatum began attending the community integration groups before ever starting treatment. “Hearing other people’s stories gave me hope,” she said. “It made me believe that healing was possible.”
From the moment she began ketamine treatment, Tatum felt something shift. For the first time, she wasn’t just working on surface-level symptoms—she was meeting her younger self with compassion and uncovering wounds that had long been buried. “It helped me realize I don’t need to be perfect. I’m perfect just the way I am,” she said. “I could finally forgive and let go of the past. It was only hurting me to hold on. I won’t ever forget, but I don’t carry it with me anymore.”
Tatum’s journey hasn’t been easy. She previously dropped out of college due to the weight of her mental health struggles. But today, she’s back—enrolled and pursuing a law degree with a renewed sense of clarity and purpose. “I live one day at a time now,” she said. “I’m finally able to be my age and have fun. I don’t feel like I have to carry the world anymore.”
When asked what she would say to others considering ketamine treatment, her answer is simple: “Don’t knock it until you try it. Be open-minded. Ask questions. Just because it’s not the norm doesn’t mean it doesn’t work. It actually helps.”
Tatum's story is one of courage, healing, and choosing to believe in the possibility of a different future. And she wants others to know—there’s hope.
